Empowering individuals of all abilities to embrace the joy of movement, build community, and achieve personal milestones through adaptive running.
DON’T EVER GIVE UP.
ABOUT OUR CLUB
Our vision is to create a welcoming, inclusive community where people of all ages and abilities can move, laugh, and grow together. We encourage families—siblings, parents, and friends alike—to join in the fun, whether you walk, roll, or run. Everyone belongs here.
INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
DEGU, stands for “Don’t Ever Give Up.” It’s inspired by the degu—a small, social rodent from Chile known for living in supportive groups and never leaving anyone behind. That same spirit of connection, resilience, and encouragement is at the heart of our club.
WHY “DEGU”?
Founded by Meghan Guardino, an educator and advocate with over 20 years of experience working with children and individuals with disabilities, the DEGU Run Club was created to offer more than just a running group—it’s a space for belonging.

Founded by:
Meghan Guardino
With over 20 years of experience working with children on the autism spectrum, Meghan Guardino, has dedicated her life to making a positive impact through inclusion, advocacy, and sport. Her journey began as a passionate volunteer for Special Olympics in New Hampshire, witnessing firsthand the transformative power of athletics to build confidence and foster connection. Growing up with a cousin who has cerebral palsy, she also learned from an early age the importance of accepting everyone and celebrating all abilities.
A former marathon runner, our founder believes running brings joy and growth to everyone—no matter their background or ability. Inclusion fuels everything she does, driven by a strong belief that the more involved a community is, the more successful everyone will be.
Currently, she is expanding her impact by pursuing graduate studies in Applied Behavior Analysis, with a focus on autism. Her unwavering commitment is to bring the best, evidence-based practices to the club, ensuring every member feels valued and empowered.
Whether you're a runner, a supporter, or someone looking for a welcoming community, the DEGU Run Club is for you. Join us—let’s make every step count, together.
